Land

So where to start...
That little red square is 6 acres of land that will in all probability be ours on Thursday, March 16th. It was an incredibly long process buying this piece of land. There were months of haggling, followed by deed problems, and tons of waiting for their attorney to talk to our attorney etc... But after about 5+ months the end is in sight and we will soon be 'Land Owners' (A somewhat scary concept that I'm sure I'll talk about later)

I have to say that I found the process of buying land to be really frustrating and alienating. We never met the people who own the land. We never even met their attorney. We just met with a real estate agent who handled all of our communications with the 'sellers' until their was a somewhat accepted purchase offer. Then we had to get an attorney who handled all of our communications with the 'sellers' through their attorney. All of this has brought us to the closing on the land, which is happening through the mail which means that it will be just the two of us and our attorney filling out paperwork and sending it to the 'sellers'.
